Jenn and I have a baby girl! Her name is Mia Magdalena Umali, and she was born Wednesday, March 28, 2001. This is our first baby. And this blog will be a daily record of my thoughts during her first year growing up with us.

Mia vomitted a little tonight. Very different from spit-up, which we're used to. Since it seems like an isolated incident, we're only taking a note of it.

Mia enjoys the Baby Playzone, which provides a seemingly endless array of activities for her: a practice area for standing, a bouncing ball to bat at, and her latest trick: rolling balls through the little 'maze'.She takes each ball (which we pile up near her), and she inserts it into the tube, one by one. It's amazing.

Mia's had a fever of 102.9 degrees for the past 36 hours. It seems as if we're old hands at this now. We hold her a lot, and give her Tylenol. This morning, her temperature was at a much better 99.6 degrees. Yea!

Mia had a good eating day today. She ate chopped up bananas at breakfast, and pureed peas at dinner (which Jenn made with a small food processor).She also seemed to drink from her sippy cup! Even though she's had the sippy cup for a few months, tonight she seemed to finally drink from it properly, instead of just sucking the liquid into her mouth, and then dribbling it out.
